A message from the Chair, Frank Howarth
Dear ICOM Australia Members
It gives me great pleasure to introduce myself as the new President of ICOM Australia, having been elected at the AGM last month. As you may be aware I am the Director of the Australian Museum in Sydney, and have served on the ICOM Australian Executive Committee as Vice Chair since 2008.
My fellow members of the Executive Committee are listed below, and their professional affiliations and contact details can be found on the ICOM website at http://icom.org.au/site/aboutusexec.php. I would like to welcome the new members to the Committee, and welcome back those who are continuing to so generously give their time and energy to ICOM. It also gives me great pleasure to acknowledge the contributions of retiring Chair Craddock Morton, who has provided outstanding leadership for the organisation, and the retiring National Secretary Roger Garland, who I am pleased to note remains on the Executive.
It is my intention as Chair to keep ICOM members up to date both with the activities of the ICOM Executive, and issues across the Museum sector that may impact on ICOM members. If you have a query about ICOM or if I can assist in some other way, please don’t hesitate to contact either myself or the National Secretary Scott Mitchell, who is also at the Australian Museum.
With best regards,
Frank Howarth
