BlueShield Australia & DISACT Symposium 2010: Disaster Proofing Heritage Collections

Disaster Proofing Heritage Collections – the Blue Shield Australia & DISACT Symposium 2010 is a one-day event on 6 May 2010 at the National Library of Australia (Canberra). It will encompass two themes:

• Regional Disaster Preparedness for Heritage Collections
• The Risk Management of Energy-Efficient, Heritage Collection Storage.

The symposium coincides with the ICOM Australia AGM.

Specialist China tour

A privately organised post-ICOM General conference tour is being formed by the chair of the ICOM historic house committee, Demeures historiques (DemHist). The tour is an art-oriented introduction to middle kingdom Chinese culture, guided by a German art historian. The nine day tour includes Shanghai to Jingdezheng via famous cities, towns, villages and scenery including the Yellow Mountain, Huangshan.
